CIMA+, a national engineering consulting firm, has promoted Eric Martin to senior vice president of information technology, effective October 4.

Based in the firm’s Laval headquarters, Martin has over 35 years of experience in the IT sector. He joined CIMA+ in March as a strategic advisor.

“This appointment represents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the digital evolution of a company renowned for its excellence, innovative spirit, and collaborative culture,” said Martin. “I am confident that, thanks to the competence and commitment of the teams in place, we will be able to continue developing high-performance technological solutions that will contribute to the growth and success of CIMA+.”

Martin was previously VP of IT at Groupe Deschenes, a large wholesale distributor, and director of AI solutions delivery at Element AI (acquired by ServiceNow in 2020). Before that, he was CIO at agrifood recycler Sanimax and engineering firm Dessau (acquired by Stantec in 2015).

Earlier in his career, Martin was a senior consultant at Capgemini.

He has a bachelor’s degree in business management from Université de Sherbrooke.

“Eric’s role is highly strategic for CIMA+ as we pursue our digital transformation and seek to take full advantage of emerging technologies,” said COO David Murray. “His experience in the digital sector, combined with his business management skills, will enable him to ensure the continuity of our activities while propelling our technological capabilities to new heights, allowing CIMA+ to successfully meet the challenges that lie ahead and sustainably support our growth.”

CIMA+ was founded in 1990 and has 3,500 people across 40+ offices in Canada. The firm provides consulting engineering services in energy and resources, infrastructure, transportation, buildings, project management, operational and digital technologies, and earth and environment.
